In preaching up a storm last night, my sore throat went into melt down...
and this morning i woke to find I had no voice whatsoever left, which is kind of strange as this is the first time really this has happened. I went to the Doctor this morning who said not to talk for at least a week. It was then that I realised just how much communicating we do and how slow it all is in handwriting. Can't Talk, Can't use a phone, can't sing, can't preach. All of which is a pain. Religated to typing chats and txting with the phone. The Doc said he had another Pastor with the same thing who had to stop talking for 6 weeks. Ugh! Even this morning i noticed disciplining my children was hard. It was a struggle to get them to look at me first so I could show them a fist (the best angry sign i could do) just to motivate them to get dressed for school. Anyway i'm now praying my voice comes back soon...and I'm sure Lynn is too, because I was supposed to be leading worship at the Pastors Refresher with her this week and then preaching next Sunday. I wonder if God is telling me to spend some more time listening? I think so. |
